Hello?

Hello. Good to meet you. I'm David, a journalist, curious generalist, avid reader, podcast addict and I like trawling the web for hidden gems (been doing it for this newsletter since 2011, so I know where to look).

You know what: I don’t have any more questions, can I just give it a try?

Funny coincidence. Look what we have right here:

No, seriously, what exactly is the Weekly Filet?

Thousands of curious minds trust the Weekly Filet for food for thought. Every Friday, I send out a carefully curated set of the best links from around the web, with a healthy dose of serendipity and nerdiness. Helping you make sense of the world and yourself.

What kind of links?

Those recommendations can be all kinds of things: longreads, data visualisations, videos, podcasts, photo essays, music, books, games, cartoons, anything really that piques a curious mind and provokes reflection.

Since I share only five links per week, the bar for inclusion is very high. I strive to offer you a good mix of definitive pieces on issues everyone is talking about and hidden gems you didn’t know you’ll find interesting. Here’s an example: The most important decision for your life.

In the archive, you can find everything I’ve recommended since 2011. That should give you a good impression of what you’ll find in future Weekly Filets.

Will I like it?

Thousands of people from all around the world trust the Weekly Filet, some of them are subscribers for more than ten years. So, yes, there’s a good chance that you will like it. Here’s what two longtime subscribers apprectiate about it:

  • «Every week, it’s a new trove full of serendipity — which makes it truly one of the best places on the internet.» — Florian Jungnikl-Gossy, CPO falter.at

  • «Thanks to the Weekly Filet, I’ve discovered perspectives on the world I didn’t even know existed.» — Andrea Jansen, Founder of AnyWorkingMom

But the best way to find out is to just give it a try.

I heard talk of some instant-gratification links somewhere — huh?

That’s right. At the end of the newsletter, I always include a couple of links that are meant for instant gratification. No longreads, no podcasts, usually just one click and 5 seconds later, you’ve got a smile on your face or have learned something interesting to share with the next person you meet.

Just to be sure: You won't do anything evil once I give you my email address?

Nope. Your email address is only used for sending you the Weekly Filet once a week (plus maybe once or twice a year some general updates on the Weekly Filet). Your email address is not shared with anyone. No spam, just filets.

I've got some great content here, can I pay you to be featured?

No.

Just like with every FAQ, I have a question that isn’t answered here. Also, I have an idea what you could improve with the Weekly Filet.

Send me an email to david@weeklyfilet.com and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
