Weekly Filet #134: Murakami's Sequel to Kafka's Metamorphosis. And more.
This week's top recommendation
Franz Kafka had turned Gregor Samsa into a monstrous bug. Haruki Murakami brings him back. «He woke to discover that he had undergone a metamorphosis and become Gregor Samsa» begins his ingenious short story published this week in The New Yorker. It's a perfect weekend read. Thinking about it, it has been a while since I've last recommended a fiction text. The last one was in Weekly Filet #86, called «Going For A Beer». A great read, still.

«The highly convincing story of the most controversial football player of our time. It's as if Emir Kusturica had adapted «The Catcher in the Rye» into the mad setting global sports showbiz.» –
