Weekly Filet #184: A Father's Scars. And more.
1. A Father's Scars (The Washington Post)
«Morning,» Gus said, and began stabbing him. — this is the last memory Creigh Deeds has of his son. Once you've started reading this story, you won't be able to put it down.
2. I'm Out (The Players' Tribune)
«The fear of being gay is a full-time job.» Jason Collins, the first openly gay player in the NBA, retires and tells his story. Impressive read.
3. A World Disrupted: The Leading Global Thinkers 2014 (Foreign Policy)
As every year, Foreign Policy Magazine has revealed its list of 100 leading global thinkers. As every year, it's worth exploring.
4. Efterklang, The Last Concert (La Blogothèque)
Yet another stunning Vincent Moon music film. This time 55 minutes of what Danish rock band Efterklang call their Last Concert (it was not really their last one, but it was staged as if it were, with orchestra and all. Anyway, just go watch it).
5. A War Survival Videogame That Shows You the Real Horrors of Fighting (Wired)
It's been a while since I've bought a video game for my computer. After reading this review, I couldn't resist. A war game that puts you in civilians' roles and that has one goal only: survive. Gripping.
Bonus track
This visualisation of every active satellite orbiting earth from Quartz has been all over social media this week, so you've probably seen it already. In case you haven't, I just wanted to make sure you don't miss it (also, try pressing Q + space for a little surprise).
